About Jess

NCBC’s founder and director, Jessica Coimbra (Jess), is a Portuguese-American, neurodivergent (autistic, ADHD) cis-gender, bisexual woman originally from New York, who now resides in West Seattle, WA. She is a licensed behavior analyst, who has worked with diverse populations in Europe and the US. Professionally, Jess is passionate about contextual behavior science, acceptance and commitment training, mindfulness, therapeutic gaming, family coaching, self-management/self-improvement programs, assent-based instruction, and reformation of the field of applied behavior analysis. She created NCBC with the support of its founding coalition members to focus on helping people based on a social model of disability and through the synthesis of behaviorology and acceptance and commitment therapy.

Personally, her hobbies include gaming, traveling the world, vegan-foodie adventures, and everything shipping containers or Star Trek (some of her special interest topics).

Live long and prosper!
